The 2024 edition of the NewSpace Economy Congress is well underway at Casa Llotja de Mar, a gothic style centre of business built in the 14th century. The juxtaposition of ancient arches and new arcs is familiar at many important sites around the city.
You don’t have to look too hard to see the Saltire flying at the top of the signage – the Scottish government is the ‘invited ecosystem’ and is highlighting the #space sector growth in several clusters around Scotland.
Sustainability is probably the strongest repeating theme, which is encouraging. Aside from content and strategy, it is great to reconnect with former colleagues, friends, students-who-are-now-pros, and quiet corners, walls, alleyways and even trees that were my day-to-day from over a decade ago.
While I used to stand in places like this and talk about boundary-stretching I+D+i (R&D), I’m here to see what I can do now to help others with theirs.
